Haughton Giant Challenge

This past weekend was supposed to be a quiet one but in the end I ran a 5k park run Saturday morning followed by the Stafford RC Go-Ride MTB training, then on Sunday I decided to take part in the Haughton Giant Challenge.

The Haughton Challenge is a 20k or 50k ride starting from St.Giles Primary School and the event raises money for the School and the Air Ambulance so a worthwhile event to take part in. Not being someone to take the easy route I decided to try the 50k loop, it was a fun course riding across farmers’ fields, private land and wooded areas with roads thrown in the link it all together, the event isn’t a race but is timed, I completed the 50k (we got lost and did 56.5k) in 3hours 15 mins and finished 50th out of 156 with a stop at the water station so I’m really pleased with that.

The Haughton Challenge was a great event for great reasons, if you have some free time next year give it a try, you ride around some beautiful locations and areas you probably wouldnt normally see, full info for the event can be found at

As always, massive thanks to my sponsors, go check them via the “partners” tab above.
